Understanding of the topic's content was needed, but more importantly taking enough time to practise previous exams questions' was the key. The ACCA practice exams showed me useful exam techniques that I applied also in FR exam. In overall, taking enough time and commitment to prepare for the exam.

Self-study with support of online study platforms.

I found some good technique and study support on YouTube channel as well as on study portals. Practising previous exam questions gives an idea what kind of questions there might be in the exam. Time management has always been important in ACCA exams. Skip the questions if you don’t know the answer or take your best guess. You can always come back to the questions you didn’t know in first place. More time is needed for longer, last questions. When answering multiple choice questions, exclude the most obvious wrong answers.

It was very convenient as I was working from home at that time.

To continue with the ACCA exams - there are still a couple to complete from my list. Also need to submit practical experience that I have gained already through different roles in the company.

The exam – Advanced Financial Management (AFM) – was a good opportunity to combine and reflect on knowledge, gained during the exam preparation process and studies of various finance-related subjects at the university as well as practical work experience. This helped me to remain curious, and curiosity always makes learning easier.

I prepared by self-study and used study text by a publisher that is approved by ACCA.

It pays off to do practice questions, even just a few for each major topic. When reading the study text and seeing examples of calculations, it often seems that everything is clear, but doing the exercises quickly highlights areas where additional revision or practice is needed.

It’s an opportunity to take the exam in a familiar, distraction-free environment. In addition, there is no need to commute on the exam day.

I am settling into a new job that I recently started, and I will be taking the final ACCA exam soon. Fingers crossed!

I would like to start with the congratulations on your excellent exam result in March 2022 session. Could you tell us, what the key to the success of your exam pass rate was? 

Timely start of preparation with enough time allocated to review the syllabus.

I went through Kaplan reading materials, managed quite a big part of exam materials. In addition, reviewed the pocket notes just before the exam.

Allocate time for a proper review.

I could easily fit exam in my agenda and did not need to commute anywhere.

I plan to continue taking ACCA exams in 3 out of 4 annual sessions. Career wise I will take the opportunities that present themselves.

There are many factors, which contributed to the excellent pass rate. Firstly, I have concentrated on both getting an in-depth understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applying the knowledge I learned to solve the exam questions. Secondly, I would like to thank my employer and colleagues at Nexia Audit Advice for their support in helping me understand the application of the standards in the context of an Audit engagement in a real company. Such experience gave me a chance to appreciate the practical application of the knowledge I learned and helped me expand my view of the subject.

I have used the BPP Workbook as well as the BPP Practice & Revision Kit. I feel like the combination of both provides a solid knowledge base necessary for the ACCA exam. Additionally, before the exam day, I have practiced some exams available on the practice platform, which helped me get familiar with the exam software interface.

I suggest to focus both on theory and practice. I feel like theory that I learnt in the BPP Workbook is the key to getting an excellent understanding of the subject. The in-depth knowledge of theory helps to answer the exams questions and to feel more confident on the exam day. As an extra, knowledge of theory is very useful at the workplace, when tasks become more complicated. Practice helps to expand on the knowledge obtained in the Workbook and highlights the areas that need special attention. Lastly, it is very important to work out the best approach to understanding the questions and formulating answers.

The key advantage of remote exams is their flexibility. It is possible to choose the most convenient time slot, which is a crucial factor for me, especially since I am engaged in many other tasks, such as university studies and a full-time job. Also, I find that sitting an exam in the comfort of my own home helps me concentrate better.

… a continuous journey to professionalism.

In the upcoming 12 months, I am planning to pass 4 more ACCA exams and move on to the ACCA Strategic Professional level. I am planning to sit one exam per session, in order to take the time to learn the content to its full extent. As for the career, I am planning to continue gaining practical experience in the fields of Audit, Accounting and Tax to complete a wide range of challenging tasks at the workplace and to become an Auditor.

I would say that key to successfully passed exam is an understanding why I am doing this (what my motivation for studying is), setting a plan for myself and sticking to that plan. When there is the plan, it is much easier to maintain a work-, life-, study- balance in life and this is important for me. It is also important to go through a whole syllabus and give extra attention to parts that are not so clear.

I prepared for exam by self-study, so I was in charge of study timing and pace. It made my study process planning easier and at the same time harder to actually get to it, so sticking to the plan was very crucial. I was using open tuition lectures and BPP books.

The most important issue is planning your studies and sticking to the plan and going through whole syllabus. Taking mock exams is crucial to have real exam experience. It is also important to maintain a balance in life and not forget about study breaks.

There are several advantages of taking remote exam, which take off certain amount of stress: no need of commuting, sitting exam in your own environment, no other people around who might be distracting. All you need are good internet connection and computer.

To prepare for the next ACCA exam and pass it. When I take one exam at a time, I try to focus on one exam at a time and around 2 exams a year.

My study approach has not changed throughout my ACCA journey - I always stick to the same study plan. Thus, I think that the good score I achieved in this exam can mainly be explained by the fact that this exam was largely based on the knowledge I had gained during my previous studies as well as at my workplace. Moreover, this time I focused on structuring my answers in a clear and understandable manner, and I believe it helped the examination team to understand the points I was trying to make.

As usual, I started with reading the workbook provided by BPP and preparing summary of key points. Afterwards, I tried to answer as many test questions as possible in the proper time. Finally, I spent the last 2-5 days before the exam on taking mock exams and re-reading my summaries.

Try to use various available resources to ensure that the gained knowledge really stuck to your brain. If you at first read the workbook, then once again read the summary, watch the videos and finally test your knowledge and write down what you remember in a test question or mock exam. You would be more likely to remember the knowledge this way.

Just like other people around the world, I experienced technical issues in this exam session and was not able to access my examination at the assigned time. I was extremely stressed out and worried that I had done something wrong. However, ACCA support staff provided prompt response regarding the mentioned technical issues and offered a possibility to book another timeslot shortly after the originally appointed date. In this case I found the remote examination approach very useful since I did not have to make significant alterations to my plans after my examination timeslot was changed.

In the following 12 months, I look forward to taking the remaining ACCA exams and gaining the certification, as well as finishing my Masters' studies. I believe the knowledge I gain in both of these study streams will come in handy at my work and differentiate me among my colleagues. To be honest, I have already been looking forward towards finishing my studies and having more time to spare!

Proper planning before the exam was the key.

I read the workbook and went through all the tests in practice and revision kit.

Devote your time for a sufficient preparation before the exam takes place and do not leave everything for the last few days.

I did not need to travel to an exam centre. I was also able to choose the time of exam that suited me the most. In general, I hope that we will be allowed to take remote exams in the future as well.

To pass at least 4 more exams and gain more knowledge and skills for my current role.

Consistency, discipline and dedicating a lot of time to studying the subject.

I usually use Kaplan Publishing materials and self-study after work hours and during the weekends. The preparation involved reading the study text, focusing on exercises and reading technical articles to have a better understanding of the content, concept and what is expected during the exam.

Keep consistent, organize the time spent on studying and make it a daily habit. It is really challenging to find the right balance between full-time work, studies, social life and hobbies, however planning definitely helps me organize my time better and avoid stress before the exam.

As well, I would like to share one tip that works for me - the day before the exam instead of studying and revising, I focus on other activities that I enjoy doing. This makes me feel calm, fresh and relaxed on the exam day.

In the following 12 months I intend to take the remaining SBL and SBR exams and obtain ACCA qualification. While in my career I plan to keep on being curious, grow personally and professionally.

I believe it's motivation and self-discipline. When you really want to reach the goal - that empowers a lot!

Several days of intensive self-studies.

Understand the content and logics of subject instead of just learning the theory and technics. In this case, it will be easier to analyze any given scenario and develop your answer properly.

Time saving on logistics, ability to concentrate purely on exam.

I plan to continue taking 1-2 exams per quarter.

Good planning and determination. I have a pretty busy life style, thus it took some additional planning and some sacrifices to successfully follow the plan and finish all learning materials prior to the exam.

I mostly prepared by self-learning from material provided by ACCAs Approved Content provider, as well as watching some YouTube channels. It also helped that my work is closely related to the studied topic so it was easier to adapt to different scenarios.

The same as I noted next to question regarding my exam success - planning and determination. Plan wisely and objectively and try to follow your plan as much as possible. Also always seek for some assistance from more experienced students to guide you if necessary.

I cannot lie, it is stressful to take a remote exam, because in case of technical issues there are nobody to help you, however it saves time on the journey to examination centre :)

My biggest plan is to finalize all exams and become fully certified accountant in the upcoming 12 months.

The most critical first step for me was setting my exam goals by taking busy work periods and other personal plans into account. Once the timeline was put in place, I started preparing by analyzing the study books specifically dedicated to this topic. I gave significant attention to all the practical examples and looked for any similarities in my day-to-day work which helped me to understand and learn the material better.

I believe one of the most important steps is to set your goals and commit. For me, this helps to keep consistent growth with ACCA examinations. In order to reach the desired goals, it is also essential to plan ahead and make sure you do not delay the preparation until the last day – give yourself enough time to reflect on the topics analyzed to build a strong foundation. However, it is also crucial to be flexible: choose the pace and preparation methods that work for you personally.

The best advantage of the remote examination for me is that I can take the exam in my safe place – home. Having this ability to take the examination somewhere where I feel calm and relaxed helps me to avoid any distractions and focus solely on the examination.

My future goals are to continue the preparation for the autumn/spring sessions as well as share and apply the knowledge gained with ACCA in my professional life.

Zdecydowanie systematyczność w nauce, bo dobre rozłożenie materiału pozwala stopniowo przyswajać wiedzę i ułatwia pogodzenie przygotowań do egzaminu z pracą zawodową i życiem prywatnym. Z pewnością pomogło mi również doświadczenie zawodowe.

Nie był to pierwszy egamin ACCA, do którego podchodziłam, jednak tym razem postanowiłam spróbować innego podejścia do przygotowania. Naukę rozpoczęłam trzy miesiące przed datą egzaminu, podzieliłam materiał na małe partie i systematycznie nad nimi pracowałam. Dzięki temu przygotowanie do egzaminu nie było dla mnie tak uciążliwe.

Na bazie własnych doświadczeń polecam rozpocząć przygotowania do egzaminu z odpowiednim wyprzedzeniem, aby mieć czas na rozłożenie dosyć obszernego materiału na mniejsze partie. W mojej ocenie ułatwia to przyswajanie materiału jak również w pewien sposób zachęca do nauki. Dużo łatwiej zmobilizować się mając w perspektywie 45-60 minut nauki dziennie niż 2-3 godziny.

W perspektywie najbliższych 12 miesięcy planuję podejść do kolejnych 3 egzaminów ACCA. Obecnie przygotowuję się do sesji Czerwiec 2022 i ostatniego egzaminu z poziomu Fundamental. Planuję również przejść przez moduł ACCA dotyczący etyki zawodowej (The Ethics and Professional Skills Module).

Szczerze mówiąc sama nie spodziewałam się tak wysokiego wyniku. Myślę, że kluczem było ćwiczenie zadań egzaminacyjnych i dokładne porównywanie moich odpowiedzi z modelowymi.

Uczyłam się samodzielnie korzystając z podręczników BPP oraz materiałów z Open Tuition.

Ćwiczcie pytania egzaminacyjne, czy to testy z lat poprzednich, czy z podręczników. W trakcie egzaminu uważnie czytajcie pytania, żeby odpowiedzieć na zadane pytanie, a nie to o co by się chciało żeby pytali.

… wyzwanie i rozwój.

Zdać egzamin TAX POL w sesji Grudzień 2022.

Przede wszystkim na wynik ten mogło wpłynąć całościowe przeanalizowanie materiału oraz wykonywanie dużej liczby zadań przed egzaminem. Dodatkowo doświadczenie zawodowe spowodowało, że łatwiej było mi zaznajomić się z częścią materiału. Podczas swojego egzaminu starałem się zarządzać czasem, co pozwoliło mi na wykonanie wszystkich zadań przed końcem egzaminu.

W przypadku egzaminu AAA korzystałem w głównej mierze z dwóch książek (podręcznika i zadań), przeanalizowałem całościowo materiał zawarty w podręczniku i na tej podstawie stworzyłem swoje notatki.

Następnym krokiem było wykonywanie zadań m.in. z poprzednich egzaminów ACCA. Zadania te wykonywałem na papierze, gdzie wpisywałem słowa kluczowe albo wyrażenia i następnie porównywałem to z odpowiedziami. Taka technika pozwoliła mi zaoszczędzić czas, niż gdybym pisał odpowiedzi pełnymi zdaniami i wtedy porównywał z oficjalnymi odpowiedziami.

Pomocna była też platforma ACCA, gdzie można było wykonywać zadania tak jak podczas egzaminu, raz też przerobiłem w ten sposób cały jeden egzamin, żeby zasymulować warunki podczas egzaminu. Dodatkowo korzystałem z webinarów organizowanych przez ACCA i podcastu poświęconemu AAA.

Przed podejściem do egzaminu AAA sugerowałbym zarezerwowanie około 3 miesięcy na przygotowania. Połowa tego czasu to byłoby zaznajomienie się z wymogami tego egzaminu i przeanalizowaniem całego sylabusa. Pozostały czas należałoby poświęcić na wykonywanie jak największej liczby zadań. Część zadań na egzaminach jest podobnych, np. pierwsze zadanie zawsze dotyczy częściowo ryzyka audytowego lub biznesowego, w związku z czym opanowując tę część sylabusa można uzyskać łatwe punkty. Wiedząc czego mniej więcej można się spodziewać po pierwszym zadaniu postanowiłem najpierw podejść do zadania drugiego i trzeciego, a na sam koniec zostawić zadanie pierwsze.

… poszerzanie wiedzy, prestiż, ciężka praca, wysiłek oraz rozwój.

Egzamin AAA był moim ostatnim. Po ogłoszeniu wyników wypełniłem wszystkie wymagane formalności i w kwietniu tego roku dołączyłem do ACCA Members.

Kluczowe było odpowiednie zaplanowanie pracy a następnie systematyczność w wypełnianiu przyjętych założeń. Biorąc pod uwagę złożoność oraz kompleksowość materiału egzaminacyjnego, dobry wynik nie byłby możliwy bez takiej metodyki.

Przygotowania były podzielone na dwie części. Pierwsza to skrupulatne zapoznanie się z teorią, a druga, obejmująca rozwiązywanie zadań z arkuszy egzaminacyjnych. Warto również skorzystać z CBE Practice Platform, dzięki której poznamy, jak wygląda w praktyce platforma i dostępne narzędzia w trakcie egzaminu.

Dzięki temu, że mój pracodawca wspiera osoby podnoszące kwalifikacje zawodowe miałam możliwość skorzystania z dodatkowych dni wolnych przeznaczonych na naukę oraz egzaminy.

Dobrym pomysłem jest uczestnictwo w webinarze prowadzonym przez eksperta ACCA. Zawiera on przydatne wskazówki, dotyczące sposobu udzielania odpowiedzi na egzaminie. Nieocenione dla mnie były również fiszki, które przygotowałam przy użyciu jednej z aplikacji mobilnych. To bardzo praktyczny sposób na utrwalanie wiedzy w każdej wolnej chwili.

… przygotowanie do przyszłych wyzwań zawodowych.

Planuję podejść do ostatniego egzaminu w ramach ACCA w grudniu bieżącego roku. Mam nadzieję, że dzięki zdobytej kwalifikacji mój obecny pracodawca będzie skłonny do powierzania mi coraz bardziej odpowiedzialnych zadań.

Dziękuję. Uważam, że systematyczność oraz podążanie za wyznaczonym planem były determinantami sukcesu w trakcie sesji egzaminacyjnych, zarówno sesji Marzec 2022, jak i poprzednich. Podzieliłam materiał na sekcje i rozplanowałam część teoretyczną i praktyczną w określonych ramach czasowych.

Korzystałam z oficjalnych materiałów oraz z artykułów technicznych ACCA. Swoje przygotowania rozpoczęłam od analizy i nauki części teoretycznej, która dawała mi podwaliny do części zadaniowej. Jeśli chodzi o zadania to wybierałam kilka ćwiczeń z każdego modułu, a rozwiązywałam je w ramach ACCA Practice Platform.

Według mnie warto korzystać z ACCA Practice Platform, żeby oswoić się z formą egzaminu. Ponadto, uważam, że kluczowe jest odpowiednie rozplanowanie materiału oraz trzymanie się wyznaczonego planu.

Przystępowałam do egzaminów zarówno w formie stacjonarnej, jak i zdalnej. Największą korzyścią egzaminów zdalnych jest możliwość napisania ich w wybranym przez siebie miejscu. Dzięki temu poziom stresu jest niższy oraz jest mniej czynników rozpraszających.

Chciałabym dalej rozwijać się zarówno w tematach finansowych, jak i niefinansowych. Dzięki członkostwu w ACCA będę mogła pogłębiać swoją wiedzę wymieniając się doświadczeniami z innymi członkami.

Dziękuję bardzo. Na pewno w każdym tego typu egzaminie sukces jest wypadkową dobrego przygotowania, trzymania nerwów na wodzy i odrobiny szczęścia. Do każdego egzaminu ACCA podchodzę poważnie i przeznaczam sporo czasu na naukę, ale w dniu egzaminu staram się nadmiernie nie stresować i skupić na rozwiązaniu kolejnych zadań - bez myślenia o wynikach.

Do egzaminów ACCA przygotowuję się samodzielnie, korzystając z podręczników BPP i ogólnie dostępnych materiałów. Jako że pracuję zawodowo, zazwyczaj uczę się wieczorami, po kilka godzin dziennie. Naukę rozpoczynam z około miesięcznym wyprzedzeniem, zaczynając od generalnego zapoznania się z całością materiału i przerobienia zagadnień teoretycznych. Im bliżej do egzaminu, tym więcej czasu spędzam na rozwiązywaniu zadań i egzaminów z poprzednich lat. Ostatnie kilka dni to zazwyczaj dla mnie generalna powtórka, z uwzględnieniem dodatkowego czasu na te elementy syllabusa, które najtrudniej było mi przyswoić. Tutaj pomocne okazuje się prowadzenie zestawienia, gdzie zapisuję każde przerobione zadanie i oznaczam te, w których przy pierwszym rozwiązywaniu zrobiłam jakiś błąd.

Myślę, że kluczem do sukcesu w egzaminach ACCA jest przerobienie jak największej ilości pytań i zadań egzaminacyjnych. Dla mnie w szczególności istotne jest podejście do przynajmniej kilku próbnych egzaminów z poprzednich lat. Zupełnie inaczej rozwiązuje się szereg zadań z tego samego zagadnienia, w porównaniu do pełnego egzaminu, gdzie każde pytanie może dotyczyć innego obszaru syllabusa i czas jest bardzo ograniczony.

… mobilizacja do dalszego rozwoju w obszarze finansów.

Egzamin FM był moim ostatnim z zakresu Fundamental, więc głównym planem na ten rok jest dla mnie zaliczenie kompletu egzaminów na poziomie Strategic Professional, abym za rok mogła cieszyć się już członkostwem w ACCA.

It was a combination of various factors. First of all, I had a meticulous study plan with tasks allocated on a daily and weekly basis, which helped me to evenly spread the workload to avoid ineffective last-minute cramming. Secondly, I used all ACCA resources (e.g. technical articles, examiner’s reports) for tips on how to avoid common mistakes and maximize the score. Finally (and perhaps most importantly), I did a lot of question practice and attempted all available mock exams.

I started by revising my FA notes - FR has a lot of assumed knowledge from FA, and I found that having the fundamental principles fresh in my mind made it much easier to learn new more advanced concepts.

After that, I went through the whole study text, making a summary of the key points for each chapter. Then, I started question practice using the BPP Revision Kit. During the last two weeks before the exam, I attempted all available mock exams under exam conditions. I always write down any mistake I made while practising, so that I can later review any topic I struggled with.

Prepare a study plan that you can realistically follow and that is compatible with your other commitments. Avoid last-minute intense cramming as this is likely to result in burnout; I find that studying a bit every day is more productive and helps long-term memory. This is important as you are not studying only to pass the exam, ideally you are studying because you want to increase your technical and analytical skills so that you can grow professionally.

Cover the whole syllabus, do not skip any topic and do a lot of question practice using an approved Revision Kit and the Practice Platform. When practicing, I suggest you start timing yourself quite early on so that you can develop time management skills, which is essential to pass the exam. I often feel like one of the main issues with the ACCA exams is time pressure; so, even if you know the whole syllabus, it is going to be very hard to pass it if you did not spend enough time practising under exam conditions. You need to be very strict with your time: if you are not sure about a question, move on and if you have time you can come back to it later.

Read all ACCA’s resources, they are extremely valuable to gain an understanding of what the examiners are looking for and how the marking system works.

Always show your workings so that the examiners are able to understand the reasoning of your answer, and can therefore give you marks even if you made an arithmetic mistake.

Lastly, I know it’s easier said than done, but keep a positive attitude! Reward yourself for every small achievement. Enter the exam hall telling yourself that you will do brilliantly. Look after yourself throughout your studies and especially the last few days before the exam. Being in good shape physically and mentally will make a difference.

I have 6 exams left, which I am planning to take over the next few sessions. If all goes as planned, I will be an ACCA Affiliate by next March. I am moving to London right after the June exam session (I am attempting AA, fingers crossed!) where I will start my relevant work experience.

Kluczem do sukcesu egzaminacyjnego była przede wszystkim sumienna nauka zorientowana na zrozumienie przerabianego materiału, a także poświęcenie dużej części czasu na przećwiczenie zadań z poprzednich sesji egzaminacyjnych.

W pierwszej kolejności, gdy podjęłam decyzję o zapisaniu się na egzamin, podzieliłam dostępny czas na połowę. Połowę dostępnych dni przeznaczyłam na dokładne przerobienie materiału z podręcznika, drugą połowę na przećwiczenie dostępnych zadań i powtórkę materiału, który sprawiał mi największe trudności. Przydzieliłam też konkretne rozdziały do kolejnych tygodni tak, by mieć lepszą kontrolę nad szybkością postępów. Ponieważ nie dysponuję dużą ilością wolnego czasu, skupiłam się na dobrym rozplanowaniu pracy i efektywnej nauce.

Myślę, że przy analizowaniu poszczególnych zagadnień najważniejsze jest zrozumienie tematu. Dzięki temu nauka idzie znacznie szybciej i wiedza zostaje w głowie na dłużej. Kolejnym ważnym aspektem jest rozplanowanie pracy, pilnowanie postępów i przeznaczenie dużej ilości czasu na rozwiązywanie zadań z poprzednich lat. Na samym egzaminie warto kontrolować czas, by nie tracić go na zadaniach, które okazują się problematyczne. Ważne jest także dokładne czytanie poleceń i treści zadań, ponieważ często są one skomplikowane lub podchwytliwe.

… możliwość poszerzania wiedzy i potwierdzenia kompetencji.

Moja droga z ACCA dopiero się zaczęła, więc jeszcze większość egzaminów przede mną. W tym roku chciałabym zdać kolejne dwa egzaminy ACCA. Natomiast zawodowo mam nadzieję, że wraz z zespołem projektowym z sukcesem zakończymy duży projekt, który będzie owocował na przyszłe lata.

Serdecznie dziekuję! Kluczem do sukcesu egzaminacyjnego było self-study materiałów przygotowujących do egzaminu (pokrycie sylabusa) oraz w dużej części obecna praca wykonywana na stanowisku Risk Management Lead, w której wykorzystuję na codzień wiedzę wymaganą podczas egzaminu SBL oraz posługuję się biznesowym językiem angielskim.

Przygotowania do egzaminu były bardzo intensywne i również czasochłonne. Myślę, że cechuje to każdy egzamin z serii Strategic Professional. Zgodnie z sugestiami ACCA, naukę do egzaminu rozpoczęłam kilka tygodni przed egzaminem posługując się materiałami akredytowanymi przez ACCA oraz dokładnie zapoznając się z formą i rodzajem egzaminu na platformie ACCA.

Przede wszystkim, zachęcam wszystkich studentów ACCA do dokładnego zapoznania się z formą egzaminu, szczególnie w przypadku egzaminów pisanych zdalnie oraz sprawdzenia wszystkich niezbędnych wymogów technicznych do zdawania egzaminu zdalnie. W moim przypadku pierwsze podejście do egzaminu zdalnego niestety nie udało się z powodu technicznych problemów.

Główne korzyści zdawania egzaminu zdalnie to komfort pisania egzaminu w znanym nam otoczeniu oraz przy pomocy naszego własnego sprzętu komputerowego (mniejszy stres towarzyszący egzaminowi) oraz czas zaoszczędzony na dotarcie do centrum egzaminacyjnego, które często nie znajduje się w miejscu naszego zamieszkania czy tymczasowego pobytu.

W ciągu najbliższych 12 miesięcy planuję podejść do kolejnych trzech egzaminów z serii Strategic Professional oraz nieustannie rozwijać się zawodowo.

Dziękuję, jest mi bardzo miło. Przyznaję, że jest to dodatkowa motywacja w przygotowaniach do kolejnego, dla mnie ostatniego, egzaminu. W przypadku egzaminu SBL kluczem do sukcesu była regularność i systematyczność w nauce.

Intensywne przygotowania trwały ponad dwa miesiące, ponieważ staram się podchodzić do egzaminów co trzy miesiące. Przygotowywałam się samodzielne, na podstawie książek oraz materiałów opublikowanych na stronie ACCA, a także uczestniczyłam w webinarze organizowanym przez ACCA, który pomógł mi zrozumieć jak należy podejść do egzaminu od strony technicznej. Na zapoznanie się z zagadnieniami teoretycznymi poświęciłam około trzech, czterech tygodni, natomiast resztę czasu przeznaczyłam na zadania i praktykę, które uważam za najistotniejszą część przygotowań do każdego egzaminu ACCA.

Na podstawie egzaminów, które do tej pory zdałam uważam, że bardzo ważne jest stworzenie planu nauki, aby nie skumulować dużej części materiału do przerobienia przed samym egzaminem.

Natomiast drugą wskazówką, już bardziej praktyczną, jeżeli chodzi o naukę i przygotowania, jest systematyczność, o której wspomniałam na początku oraz czas poświęcony na zrozumienie zagadnień i praktykę. Uważam, że, jeżeli kilka razy w tygodniu będziemy rozwiązywać zadania, nawet jedno dziennie, to zapamiętamy dużo więcej, lepiej zrozumiemy tematy z różnych części sylabusa oraz powiązania pomiędzy nimi.

W ciągu najbliższych miesięcy planuję ukończenie kwalifikacji ACCA, ponieważ przede mną już ostatni egzamin. Na pewno, po krótkiej przerwie będę chciała zacząć rozwijać kolejne umiejętności, które wpłyną pozytywnie na mój rozwój i karierę zawodową, ale na chwilę obecną te plany nie są dokładnie sprecyzowane. Jestem otwarta na nowe wyzwania i możliwości.

I would like to start with the congratulations on your excellent exam result in March 2022 session. Could you tell us, what the key to the success of your exam pass rate was?

Thank you. From my perspective key to such high mark on the exam was really a combination of two factors - studying consistently for a longer period of time (which is an obvious challenge itself), but also being able to use acquired knowledge straightaway in practice at my workplace. As SBR exam is based on IFRS standards knowledge and accounting treatment of business scenarios, it comes in really handy being a financial auditor. Some of the case-studies encountered while studying and during the exam were very similar to those experienced at work, so there was no need for additional motivation on why SBR knowledge can be useful for me.

How did you prepare for the ACCA exam?

I based my studies on one of the online knowledge delivery platforms, which I found really easy to follow. Also being studying alongside my partner, who has been a great support during the whole learning process (and also got a pass mark from SBR, which is doubly enjoyable).

What tips and practical advice would you share with other ACCA students preparing for their exams?

I guess basic ones are pretty well known - don't study completely on you own, it's better to use some kind of knowledge provider. I believe it's best to pick just one source of knowledge and not mix different approaches to studying, as this will definitely slow you down. What also works for me is completely putting all studies aside a few days before the exam - makes it easier to concentrate on the day of the test.

What are your plans for the next 12 months?

I will make a short break before my next exam in September. Going to study for AAA, which given my line of work and latest exam result must become a pass in the first attempt. Fingers crossed.

Przygotowania do egzaminu zaczynam na około dwa miesiące przed sesją egzaminacyjną. Zaczynam od przerobienia podręcznika jednego z wydawców akredytowanych przez ACCA (Kaplan lub BPP). Daje to możliwość zapoznania się z wymaganymi zagadnieniami. Następnie skupiam się na rozwiązywaniu zadań z poprzednich sesji egzaminacyjnych, bazując przede wszystkim na Exam Kit. Jest to świetny sposób na powtórzenie wszystkich zagadnień oraz zdobycie wiedzy, jak do danych zadań należy podejść, aby rozwiązać je z sukcesem w trakcie egzaminu. Dodatkowo, bliżej daty egzaminu przechodzę przez artykuły dotyczące danego obszaru zamieszczone na stronie internetowej ACCA.  

Najważniejsze jest zaplanowanie nauki z odpowiednio dużym wyprzedzeniem. Egzaminy obejmują obszerny zakres materiału, więc naukę zawsze zaczynam dużo wcześniej. Czas przeznaczony na powtórki oraz rozwiązywanie zadań jest kluczowy. W moim przypadku bardzo dobrze sprawdza się stworzenie na samym początku planu nauki. Plan ten rewiduję codziennie i sprawdzam, jakie mam postępy, co działa na mnie bardzo motywująco. Naukę rozbijam na mniejsze bloki, co wpływa korzystnie na efektywność.

Zdawanie egzaminu zdalnie daje przede wszystkim większą elastyczność w wyborze godziny, o której chcemy rozpocząć egzamin. Poza tym, mamy możliwość pisania egzaminu w komfortowych warunkach oraz na sprzęcie, który już dobrze znamy, co z kolei ogranicza stres. Nie ma również konieczności poświęcania dużej ilości czasu na dojazd do i z centrum egzaminacyjnego.

… możliwość poszerzenia swojej wiedzy stricte w zakresie finansów, a także poszerzenie perspektywy poprzez analizę np. strategii marketingowych.

ACCA to rozpoznawalny międzynarodowo ceryfikat, który daje większe szanse na zdobycie wymarzonej pracy.

W czerwcowej sesji egzaminacyjnej będę podchodzić do ostatniego egzaminu ACCA. Mam nadzieję na uzyskanie pozytywnego wyniku oraz dołączenie do grona członków ACCA.

Hard work, hard work and once again hard work.

I personally use stick notes when revising the syllabus. It helps me then easily to restore core theory during the last two days before the exam.

ACCA exams are highly subjective and your final point depends primarily on what examiner wants to see there in your answer as the correct answer. Pay attention to the examiner reports. Also, reading questions attentively pays off.

Finalizing my ACCA, looking to obtain PM certification as I usually use it at my work as well.

Motivation. My goal is to become a chartered accountant.

I was spending at least an hour every day except Sundays. I run every day, so the running session starts with YouTube video from Open tuition, than at least 40 min for practical part of material.

Self-discipline, make a plan like MIN - 100% - MAX, your minimum is at least 10 min daily, 100 % - an hour and maximum - 1.5 hour. If you are really tired or have no time, do at least a minimum, but NEVER EVER miss a day. Step-by-step, but make sure you do your step daily.

It is convenient as you can plan your own schedule.

ACCA is an important step to reach my goal, become a chartered accountant, however the most why I like ACCA it is really useful way to learn important material and gain, it is not just to get a peace of paper, but it is something which gives you real advantage.

In the next 12 months I plan to pass 4 ACCA exam.

Thank you so much! It was laborious work. The main success formula is studying hard during preparation. You should spend all your time and attention on the study text as well as dive into practice questions. The key to achievement is starting your preparation as early as possible, at least a month before your exam date.

Well, I have started to read a study text six weeks before the specific exam. I have just planned my study work by weeks, when I have had free time, I read technical articles on the ACCA website for the related exam. They are really helpful! You can understand what style of answer is required from you, especially in the C section. Additionally, my previous university classes helped me a lot as a first-stage base.

Start preparing as early as possible! Usually, the study textbooks are enormous, what to say about practice question books. Be attentive and of course revise your studying while you still have time before an exam. Furthermore, I do not recommend to plan two grueling exams at one session, except these are related exams. Management Accounting and Performance Management are good example of related exams.

I took this mode of exam, because it was the only possible option in my location, the US. However, after the exam I could really get the taste of remote exams. When you have the same atmosphere as when you are preparing, also you do not have to be stressed out because of unexpected traffic jams on your exam way.

I plan to continue my ACCA studying and what is particularly important to implement skills and knowledge gained into my future career.

In my opinion the key to the success is to stay focused and continue to do your best each day. Small steps each day will reduce the distance to the finishing line.

I am studying most weekends however during the week I am watching lecture videos. It's probably as much as I can do after the work.

Continue to believe in yourself and don't get heartless if something doesn't go your way. What doesn't kill you make you stronger.

I am currently have 2 more ACCA exams left which I am planning to complete by the end of the year.

Determination and consistency. Long hours spent after work, and dedication to study every day made a big difference, which I felt on my exam day. I believe that thoroughly planned study schedule had a huge impact on timeliness and effectiveness of my studies. This formula will never work alone without a supporting environment and enabling team. This goes to my seniors and manager in EY.

I self studied for the exam, only relying on Kaplan study text and exam kit, and ACCA study resources. I made a structured plan and estimated time allocated for each topic, prioritizing the ones I had less confidence in. I spend a lot of time practicing questions and mocks, to then apply my knowledge before the exam.

My key advise would be - heavily use ACCA study resources, apart from approved study providers. They bring a big advantage in terms of exam techniques and efficient time management during preparation and on exam day. Also, to make sure that the curriculum is covered widely rather than in depth.

And of course, for me, it is a dream to become an ACCA member.

I am planning to complete all exams for my ACCA qualification and keep learning to be a more added value to my workplace.
